    Boa sketchy after hide switch?

My dumeril is over a year and had him since summer. Always eats, sheds perfect. He is getting bigger and not fitting his hide so the other day i switched 1 or his 2 hides for a larger one, and ever since, he seems kinda weirded out. tToday was feeding day and he never struck his rat. I ended up leaving it in there and he eventually ate it. So today after feeding i switched his hide back, he dosnt exactly fit in it but he goes underneath and it kinda sits on top of him, sorta hides him, lol. Does this sound normal for snakes[boa] to be like that?

Re: Boa sketchy after hide switch?

Some snakes just like their smaller hides. I used to have a BP that was basically wearing his hides. I bought some bigger hides for him and he refused to use them, quit eating, and kept trying to cram himself into his water bowl. After about 3 weeks of this I finally gave up and gave him back his smaller hides and he went back to normal.
