Rack system built now what?
I have my system built and thermostats set up. I have my helix set at 88 degrees and the Ranco set at 92 degrees for my back up. Front of the tub temp is around 78 degrees and rear tub heat is showing around 84 degrees. I do have 3 inch heat tape for belly heat. What temp do you have at the front and rear of your racks? What will be the best thing to put in the tubs, paper towels or go with the coco husk bedding I have them on now. Naturally I plan on feeding them right in their tubs so I am leaning towards the paper towel beding so I dont have to worry about them ingesting anything.
Too many snakes to list. Ball pythons, Gtp's and Boa's. It easier to say it that way.

I shoot for 90-94 in the hottest part of the cage and the front just not below 75

Keep mine 90-95 on the hot side and 78-82 cool side with 50-70% humidity.

Post some pictures up of your rack system, please! I always like seeing how everyone sets up racks!

Re: Rack system built now what?
Go to the D.I.Y. part of the forum and look at the Frugal herpers rack system. I have made 2 of them and have 1 set up and the other should be going this weekend. I just have to get the heat tape down on it and hooked up to the thermostats. I have my Helix set at 91 degrees and I am showing a hot (back) at 88 right now. The cool(front) is at 80 degrees. I think I am going to start adding the snakes to it. I am glad that all 21 spots in this system will be full. I have to get the other one set up so I can fill it also. Thanks for your info. If anyone else wants to chime in PLEASE DO!!

Check the top and bottom slots as well, heat rises. I have my rack is 78 cool side bottom and 81 cool side top. The hot side bottom is 90, the hot side top is 93. Mine is an all plastic rack (pvcx) and is not a great insulator. I actually don't use the bottom slot of the rack as it experiences greater variation than the rest. Also with that many animals I'd suggest that you KNOW your temps and invest in an accurate thermometer one better than the average 2 degrees off. Look for a traceable certified accurate one, they come with papers and are serial numbered.

For my adults I keep my hot side (belly heat) at 94-96 and the cool end stays 80-85. Humidity is 50-60% in the winter and 60-70% in the summer. Unprinted Newspaper as substrate.

Re: Rack system built now what?
I keep my tubs at
78-80 cool end
86-88 warm end
92-93 hot spot
I'm surprised at how many people keep their warm end ambient temp so hot
OP I'd go with paper over anything else in tubs
