    New guy needs help. Please

I bought 2 bp now. I really really like them and they are doing great. I kept them in my one bed room condo, in 4 tub rack. I only used 2, and the other 2 I use when I need to clean them.

I use the heating pad and kept the hot spot 86 to 90, usually about 87, 88.

Then when I read online it says, the hot spot needs to be 86 to 90, the cold spot needs to be 78 to 85. How can I make the cold spot from 78 to 85? I set my room temp for 75, it is already too hot for me in this little condo, I can't go 85.

My snakes are doing fine, I just worry about them. What can I do?

    Thanks

Well if your room temp is already close enough to the good ambient temps, I would think that just bumping up the hot spot the couple degrees it needs to go would in turn bump up the ambient temps just a little bit. Maybe my physics doesn't work right but thats what I would think.

I keep my snake room at 75 and the heat tape keeps the hot spot at 89 cool side is usually stays about 80.

Thank you very much. So I just need to set the hot spot at 89 right? Maybe my cold spot is also 80, I will get my temp gun in 2 days. I will check.

    Thanks again

Are you having problems with your snakes? 78 cold spot and 88 hot spot is fine! Might want to bump the hot spot up to about 88-92 for perfection but the cold end at 78 is nothing to worry about.

I would only be worried if your snakes got sick or if they stopped feeding or something.

Agreed - My cool side low is 78.5 and hot spot low is 89 and no problems.

yea but sometimes u might have to set the hot spot a few degrees higher to achieve desired temp; but set and for 89 and if it reads 86 set it to 92. ull be fine.
