How to get rid of scale rot?

So my gf just called me saying Stewie her lemon blast has a few scakes that are slighty brown and not a full scale no pics cuz im at work but sounds like beginning of scale rot to me anyways wil post pics later but how do I treat it

if you catch it before it starts to blister you might be able to treat it yourself, but if your not sure I would go to the vet. This is a serious condition and can kill your snake if left untreated. Not having seen the animal so hard to give advice since I do not know the true extent

With only a few scales what need to be done is having a clean environment (That's the most important), I would recommend switching the substrate over to newspaper, the affected area can be cleaned up with some betadine and some anti-biotic ointment can be apply.

If the BP has a large bowl of water and soak in it it should be changed to a smaller one.

Once the animal shed everything will be back to normal.

In most advance cases a vet is required as anti-biotics are often needed.

The key to prevent this clean environment and not damp substrate.
