    Sex my corn please

It's an adult corn snake I adopted, I hope the pictures are sufficient. Thank you.

For every 15-foot python out in the Everglades, there are thousands of species of clams, trees, cats, grasses and birds that are wrecking just as much havoc across the globe. So, for all the headaches the snakes are causing, I at least applaud them for being scary enough to get people's attention.

Based on the tail length whuch looks to be very long id say female but u have to either pop or probe to be 100 percent sure but as a rule males have shorter tails than.females and that lools like a long tail to me but get it popped or probed by a female especially if you want to breed cuz doing it wrong can damaged reproductive organs

I thought they have to be either pop or probed to determine sex i never read or heard anything about determining sex by tail length , thats pretty cool and seem way more humane but i bet its less accurate.

Good luck with sexing your new corn snake though
Why? Why do humans always look to the sky? Why do you try so hard to fly when you don't have any wings? We'll run on our own legs. - Kiba "Wolf's rain"

As a rule yes females have longer tails but as everyone knows exceptions to every rule it kinda give a hint as to the sex not 100 percent accurate although I havent been wrong yet w my corns by guessing first and then popping to see after

In corn snakes you can sometimes tell the sex by how the tail tapers after the cloaca not the length of the tail.I can not give a guess from those pics though.I can not see where the cloaca is in the pics sorry.

My female has a shorter tail than my male and from what I've seen of adult corns, this seems to be the norm. Tapering affects the length of tail. Male's tails tend to be longer because their tail tapers slowly. Female's tails taper quickly (if I'm not mistaken this is because males store their sex organs in their tails while females do not). I have also read that right after the cloaca on males will sometimes be thicker, but not always so. Its not always accurate but that is the way we sexed my first female and my friend's corn snake and both times we were correct. The reason we had to rely on tail length for my female was because probing proved to be difficult. She always came up right smack dab in the middle of the two measurements used for females and males. So I used the tail length method and bingo, I've got a girl. She laid for me last season.

So judging by the picture, I would say male, but again, that is just my guess based on pictures.

If you look in the 2nd picture and draw a line from the tip of their thumb nail to the snake, the cloaca is right in that area.
