Question When to breed again ?

I was wondering what is the time span that we wait until we can breed a female again after she lay eggs ..?

This will be my second year in breeding .. So I never actually re-breed a female ...

I have a couple new females already start locking up.. Which is great , but I also got a couple of female successfully laid eggs this year, Regained their weight ... But I don't want to risked it if you guys think their not ready

    Thanks !

Re: When to breed again ?

If they've gained their weight back there's no problem breeding them again. Don't worry about it.

As long as she didn't just lay and she gained all her weight back she should be fine. My girl gained all her weight back and then some, she gained about 1,200 grams total since July.

If she isn't ready she won't go. It's fairly common for females to take a year off every now and again. I say if she has all her weight back, there's no harm in trying!

Re: When to breed again ?

I do a simple rule minium weight they were last year at start of breeding season with X % gain above that
so (1st breeding at 1500 )then I would not breed again until she weights in about( 1800 for sxecond breeding minium start weight) or so for second try. then manatory year off so by breeding season 4 I have a 2500 gram snake minium to breed. this way I know they are healthy and have proper supplies for eggs.
(note only on my second season of breeding) ( weights are guessing since I had some trouble getting rodents this year, I worked out my supply issues and hope for a better season this spring.

I can proudly say if I hatched it it not died on me lol.
