Idea for my hides
My BP has 2 plastic shell hides, you know the ones that are vacuum pressed black plastic. The issue is that he likes to curl up stacked on himself occasionally and when he does this he shifts the hide off of himself. I thought about putting some sort of weight on top of the hide to hold it down, possibly making him feel more secure.
Opinions? Good idea or bad idea?

No need. Get a taller hide if you want but BP's will move the hides around as they wish and lift them up as they want. Plus you don't want that weight to possibly fall off the hide and smash you snake, do you?

I agree with Mike on this one, no need to weight down a hide at all. One of mine wears the hide like a hat sometimes and will relocate it every few days.

I don't think it's a big deal. I use flower pots with 'doorways' cut out of them. They even move those around. They also move them to the middle of the tub rather than over the warm side Some even like to squish themselves between the top of the flower pot and the top of the tub. BPs can be weirdos! If he's eating I wouldn't worry about it!
