Re: My kids christman present......
Yes, it looks like a nice normal / wild type ball. I'm sure your daughter will be thrilled.

Okay fess up... he is really YOUR christmas present... you're just using your daughter as an excuse.
Very pretty! And yes, he's what we call "normal" (wild-type).

It is a "normal" , however it is a really pretty one Nice color and pattern, also love the blushing (lighter spots) along the back.
Your kids are very lucky
If you are new to snakes, check out the great caresheets on this site. Great tips on how to make sure your snake is happy

Re: My kids christman present......
I havent had one since i was a kid. been about 15 years. this one is only 18" or so. i was really surprised by how fast it took a meal. dropped a small mouse in the tank, took about 5 minutes till it struck and ate it. dropped another in there took less than 3 minutes and that was dinner also. love watching that lol.

i printed out the care sheet from this site. i had a little trouble maintaining temps. one bulb got it too hot and the next size down was too cool. i went and got an adjustable dimmer switch for the 150 watt bulb, so i was able to turn it down to get 93 deg basking temp. seems to be working good
