    New Additions(Rescues)

    Hey Ya'll,

First, Merry Christmas to everyone. We just adopted 2 rescue animals. A Ball Python and a Bearded Dragon. The Ball Python is a little thin, fund out that it wasn't kepy warm enough by the previous owner and the Beardy has deformed front ankles. I guess the previous owner of both was evicted and the landlord found the animals after several weeks of no electricity in the house. Anyway, here they are.

Well. they should have a better Christmas in their new home.

Where do I get Roaches? I don't know where the house that they were rescued is at, but I bet there are some there.

order them online I used to breed them. they have a pretty high fat to protein content so they were great befor breeding beardies. also if u cant find them make sure u have a basking spot of a temp of 105-115 yes to as high as 115 they digest there food fast and are active especially in that condition get a stable basking temp and try to do daily soaks to gain hydration it looks dehydrated. also if you cant find roaches get small pinkies he'll eat them but only feed pinkies if your temps are perfect impaction is an issue. also get the vegies in as much as possible kale I tthink its spelled i used to feed all the time to my dragons. PLEASE let me know if you have any questions I LOVE DRAGONS and miss mne lol so i would be more than happy to help u.

also I never had water bowls in my beardie tanks. I just did soaks I have read and from experience they will drink but soaking is the best way to hydrate them. and it keeps the cage clean as well as helps with temperment and what not. also U may already know all this but I HIGHLY recomend investing in MVB bulb itll take care of all u need UVB wise and in the long run save u money in electricity, it doubles as a basking and uvb light. they are expensive like 30-50 dollars but they are so easy and simpe to use

What do you mean by "soak". Do I put her in a tub of water or just mist her with a spray bottle? By the way, her new name is Christmas. Since my husband got her for me as a Christmas present.

thats an awesome name. I allways liked to soak mine in a tub or the sink with warm 80-90 degree water, soak for 5-10 min they can become used to having there bowel movemnet in the water for easy cage clean up. but ya soak put the dragon in the warm water supervised and they will drink. in the begining itll prob freak out and run and try to get out but just let them chill u know. itll learn to like it and keeps them in great health
