I have a few BPs (maybe 2-3 out of 15) who don't use their hides, and the corns are rarely in theirs! Dave and Nerissa the BPs never use them, and their husbandry/rack is basically perfect. I still leave one in Dave's tub, since he will use it from time to time... but I removed Nerissa's, as she'd just knock it over or sit on top. She is perfectly happy under the newspaper, or simply curled up in the corner - so I guess some snakes don't care for man-made hides?

haha yea i got a few that prefer the newspaper to any hide u can provide (works great for me) Less cleaning

But i have one guy who wants 2 hides no matter what even if they take up the whole tub.

For most snakes it would depend on the tub size. If they were already in a fairly small tub in a rack, most of their secure feeling is already there, without the need for a hide.

Yeah, they're pretty sweet. Just because it's $30 doesn't make it crappy! My $30 one is just as accurate as my $200 one. The only difference is the range.
