its the standard 3/4 melamine. The tubs are only 8x5.25x1.5.

So thats where my water problem comes in. Need something about 1" tall or so for water.

Well you could use Mason jar lids, or go to Michael's or a paint supply store and get tiny paint containers that are usually clear and about 2 inches in diameter and 1 inch tall.

Yeah that's the trick. Maybe get some bowls for cats that are wide and shallow, so it would be short enough, yet hold at least a few days water. Might want to keep a pitcher of water near the rack so you can easily refill every few days.

What about the base for the terra cota pots? Some of them are glazed if you want to go that route to. I saw a bunch at the craft store the other day. I think they are safe for snakes, double check on that though.

Since I breed my own mice, every few weeks I'll go to walmart and pick up those packs of baby food as a treat (little plastic rectangle containers, usually come in a 2pk). The rodents get the baby food and I wash out the little containers for use as water dishes for my baby corn snakes. I'm collecting a lot more of them for future use. Not sure if these are short enough (they look about an inch tall, maybe slightly taller) but its an idea.
    Under Construction.....
