    Mexican Black Kingsnake experiences?

Recently went to my first show (So much fun ) and I was able to handle and ask about what the vendor called a Texas black kingsnake. Some googling and research has lead me to believe that it was actually a Mexican black, and I was wondering what kind of experience people here had with them. It's the first colubrid I've ever really had an interest in besides mandarin rat snakes (considerably cheaper too xD ) and I think I'll be picking one up at the local Seattle show in March.

    Thoughts?

We have a mexican black, and he's been a really easy snake to care for. He's only about a year old, but he's always had flawless sheds, and eats like a champ. He's no different care-wise then any other ol' kingsnake.

Though, last feed, he was convinced that my husband's finger was a mouse, and he would not let go. Poor lil thing tried like heck to kill/eat his finger. He didn't even draw blood!

We have one too and he's been great. We have never been struck at and he is really sweet and fun to handle. We recently picked up what we were hoping was a female. But she turned out to be a he oh well, he is really sweet too. The only issue we have had is with us being in Vegas with such hard water, he started loosing scales from calcium build up. We started using a water delivery service for ourselves and started using that water for our snakes and 3 sheds later, he looks 100% better. I know you won't be disappointed if you get one, they are a pleasure to have.

Ive had mine for just under a month now. Picked him up from BHB at the Tinley NARBC. Hes is an awesome snake. He thinks he tough though lol. When ever I go to get him out he does his best rattle snake impression. Once hes out hes really chill. He eats like a champ and has had a perfect shed. I would recomend them.
