Thank thank thank thank you! For taking him to a vet soon. And for rescuing them. I want to see more ball python owners to feel that their animals lives are worth more than they got them for.

    Re: Please Help!!! Sick BP

I did the sugar water tonight and it already looks better tonight then it did when I got them last night. We get to see the vet on wed that's the soonest the vet could get us in. I have new aspen bedding for them but will wait to put it in until we get little guy fixed up I got them new heat lights today little guy wouldn't eat but the other one ate his. They have fresh paper for now clean water and are loving to cuddle with me. hmmm now to name them thanks for all the help I'll update after we see the vet on wed. they are both getting checked out just to be safe. The vet is only gonna charge me $20 since I turned in the previous owners and they where ticketed for abuse and 3 6ft plus snakes where taken and 4 pits where 2 look as if they where used for fighting and the other 2 for bait. I'm glad I pushed it as far as I did and they got busted. The animal control officer called the vet for me and got us hooked up I went back over to get more info about the snakes today and caught them fighting 2 pits in the yard so I called it in

God looks out for those who look out for others. Because you are a caring individual that took the time for animals that have no voice you are now able to get the vet care your snakes need at a price that you can afford. And may the bastard that abused these animals rot in hell

I so agree and think they ought to be treated exactly like they treated their animals....

Bless you Junebugg for rescuing and doing what you need to do to get them healthy. I am so relieved this thread didn't turn out like the other one.... Please keep us posted tomorrow on what the vet says! We're all pulling for you and your new little ones!

    Re: Please Help!!! Sick BP

Well we went to the vet today after 2 and a half hours of surgery and a weeks worth of shots to give it little guy is gonna be just fine it was a very bad prolapse with infection all the way to it's eyes. Since the poor snake was in such bad condition and I had a letter from animal control showing I rescued them the vet only charged me $50 from what would have been a $375 bill. They would have let me make payments but they where glad I got the snake in when I did. Vet said another 3 to 5 days with out antibiotics and it would have gone blind and most likely died. So I got some special care instructions I'm following carefully and it will be just fine. The snake is approx 7 months old and only weighs 100 grams vet said once it weighs 250 grams we will get a sex check on both of them. The bigger one weighed in at 134 grams a little dehydrated but is doing just fine. Thanks for all the help everyone and hope to learn more from everyone as I get these guy or gals healthy. For now we nick named them tiny Tim (the smaller sick one lol) and curious George since it's healthy and every time we hold it head is always up looking around and always seems curious lol THANKS EVERYONE!!!!!!!!

I am so glad that the vet understood your circumstances and only charged you $50. You did a wonderful thing by rescuing those snakes and reporting the cruelty. And by bringing the snake to a vet knowing the bill might have been over $300. I'm so glad the snake is doing so much better. Poor thing...only 100 grams! and 7 mo old! Thats horrible. I really hope both make a great recovery. I can't imagine how much that poor snake suffered :/

Have you came up with names for them?

Also make sure you keep us updated with pics and posts as the snake recovers!

we have nick named them for now until we find out a sex next month. The bigger healthy one is curious george because it's very active curious and wanting to go all over and tiny tim is the smaller sick one lol and today little one started shedding the vet said tim was too dehydrated to shed and was worried about it I've been giving tim a warm bath 3 times a day yesterday and today like the vet said and tim started peeling tonight so that's good now just hope tiny tim will feel like eating soon.

pk I put up a few pics i'll get better ones up soon. You can see the prolapse in the pic but that was after it had been cleaned and many sugar water soaks before the vet. Looked a lot worse I should have taken pics but i was more worried about what to do. You can see just how small they are in the pics for being 7 months. I'll get more pics up soon and thanks again for all the help!!

I got scared for a moment when i saw the prolapse...
That was very serious and looks painful :/
Im so glad you brought him to a vet. Without veterinary care that bp would have no or barely a chance or survival. You saved his life :]
haha I like the names Tiny Tim and Curious George
