    Akita has poss RI

My finace used to do all the work with the boas, but since he has lost his flippin' mind and is going through some sort of mid life crisis (:cens0r: men), I have to do it all.

Akita is my 8ft. salmom rtb, well I noticed Fri. night a bubble on her nostril, I spoke with the vet on Sat. afternoon, she said to call Mon. for an appt., I told her that I would be there when they opened on Mon.

I get there at 9:30 this morning and the receptionist asked if I had an appt., I told her no, but that I spoke with the vet on Sat. & told her that I would be in first thing on Mon. (did the vet think I was kidding) so after a short wait they took us back to an exam room.

The tech comes in and wants me to take Akita out of her bag, I ask "don't you want to weigh her first?" , so she did 6550g

The vet said whatever Akita has it's in the early stages, did a culture and put her on Naxcel every 2 days for a week.

So $168 later! Akita is back in her viv chillaxin

    Re: Akita has poss RI

I am glad to hear that Akita is on the road to recovery

I am a vet tech and have been for over 11 years. I have worked with vets in hospitals, zoos, clinics, and on the business side for a large company. You can't tell a vet anything, they just don't remember it and they certainly don't remember to tell their staff about people they told to come in, or people who told them they were going to come in. I sometimes think the extra two years of education they have on me crowded their brains or something. LOL
