    Temp gunning hot spot?

    Hey everyone.

Just wondering, where do you guys set your hot spots at? I don't mean what temps but where do you set it? Do you go with average temperature of the bottom of the tub? Set it to the hottest spot on the tub? (like in a spot that's directly on the heat tape) on top of the substrate?

I've been setting mine up on the hottest spot of the bin. I hunt around with my temp gun until I find the hottest spot then adjust until it's 93.

    Anyone?

    Thanks, Jeremy.

I'm the only one who checks my hot spot with a temp gun?

Temp must be set by the bare bin itself. If you go with temps on the substrate they could borrow and be much hotter than you know.
My temp gun is mainly used for my blue beauties or bearded dragon. It's kindof hard to get a proper reading when you have to pull the tub out and then check the hot spot. By then it has already lost a few degrees. So I just go with my accurite and my Herpstat pro. They never seem to fail me yet.
