A couple questions
Hi. I just have two quick questions.
1) What do the numbers in your signatures mean, folks? I see 1.1.0, 0.1.0, etc, but I'm confused as to what exactly they are counting.
2) How much do "piebalds" (I think they are called) generally run? My girlfriend and I are about to adopt our first BP, and we thought that after awhile if this worked out, we would adopt another, and she loves the piebalds, so we'd think about that.

Re: A couple questions
well the numbers mean
male. female. unknown
so if you had a pair of piebalds your signature woud read
1.1 piebalds.
Piebalds are not something you are likely to see up for adoption, they are a high end morph and usually sale for over $1000.00. Good luck with your new additions.
Currently have
2.3 pastel's
0.1 spider
0.1 normal
1.1 100% het albino's
1.0 Albino ( he will live at work but i get to take care of him)
1.0 Cinnamon
1.0 Fire

Re: A couple questions
Yup. If someone says "1.2.3 normals" it means they have one male, two females and three unknown normals.
Pieds can be kind of pretty expensive, so you aren't likely to see many up for adoption, because the odds are that if anyone has a piebald that they can't keep, they'll charge a fair amount for it.
1.0 Normal - Maynard
1.0 POG - Victor
0.1 YB - Diana
0.1 Pastel Boa - Astrid
1.0 Salmon Boa -
1.1 Leopard Geckos
0.3.2 Inverts

I saw one for 80.00 on Craigslist, I just didn't have transportation to go get it, or I would have!

Are you sure it wasn't Het Pied? That means it will produce pied offspring if paired with a pied or another het pied. Hets appear as normals, though, and therefore run a lot cheaper (though $80 is still ridiculously low). I've never seen a pied for less than $600, and that was a mostly normal snake with a tiny spot of white.

If there was a Piebald on Craigslist it was a scam. If you paid $700-800 for a low white Pied that would be pretty cheap.
Most likely they were selling a Het Pied, that mean the animal looks normal but carries a recessive gene. Again if you buy hets from Craigslist they are most likely not really a het, the only thing you are going on is their word that its a het.
This is a good place to look for Piebalds and get an idea what price range they are.
