i need help
so im trying to convince my fiance to let me get another bp after a few years of not owning one. she is totally convinced that a ball python will escape and try to kill our newborn baby and eat her. ive tried everything but shes shutting me down, how can i persuade her into letting me get one?

Maybe try to sell her on a hatchling. Take her to a pet store or reptile expo and have her hold a baby BP, that should give her an idea about how harmless they are.
Try to convey to her that a BP will never get big enough to see a human of any size as food.

yea i tried to convince her that even a full size bp wouldnt see any of our children as "prey" but she still thinks that a bp will coil up around her neck and kill her for the hell of it..... i know id have to get a hatchling, she loves baby animals lol. i asked her what she would do if i brought one home and she said " ill throw it in the pool". i know if i just went and brought one home she would be pissed but it would blow over, but i would rather it be done the right way so she doesnt hate me for a month and make my life hell

I don't think you should get one. If it's going to make her that unhappy, why would you try to force her to accept it? If you keep talking to her about how this or that morph is so cool, and how pretty this one is.. and how much that one costs, wouldn't it be awesome to have one of these.. she might finally decide to show some interest. But if she's insisting that she absolutely doesn't want a snake in the house, you should respect that. It's not MY home, it's OUR home. She has to live there too.
Ultimately you should think about whether it is more important to have her, or a snake. If that's a difficult decision for you to make, you should probably call off the wedding.

Yeah, if she's got that much fear some hands on with a BP may be the only way to win her over. Have you told her about how there is no record of a BP killing a human...ever?

only reason why she doesnt want one in the house is because she thinks it will some how get out of the cage, out of the room, climb 20 stairs bypass every room on the way to ours and strangle our daughter.... all in the middle of the night. her ignorance and stubbornness is what is really pushing me to get one now and prove to her that nothing will happen with the snake

yea ive tried telling her that a bp has NEVER killed a human, shes not afraid of snakes. she use to hold my jungle carpet all the time and he was MEAN. she just thinks that it will harm our children... she use to have a albino retic back in the day ( it got to 8 feet and she got rid of it)

What you should do, since she's not afraid so much of the SNAKE as she is of it somehow escaping, is take her to the pet store and show her how the lids lock. Or if she won't go to the pet store, just point out how secure the locking sterilite tubs are at Walmart. That's what I keep mine in. Knock on wood, in 14 yrs I've never had an escape from my totes
