I would highly recommend while you are fighting mites to use paper towels as a substrate. Also be sure to cook any wood you might have in the enclosure and don't put it back in until this is all over. Also even though you do not see them....treat every 2-3 weeks for a couple months. Wash any bowls or hides in the dishwasher on a hot cycle. Also if using prevent a mite make sure you spray outside and let dry. Like someone stated really read the directions. It is a little intimidating the first time but fairly easy.
Personally I love it!!!!! Works amazing and we use it as a preventative measure.

So I been treating for about 5 days actually took her out of the tank bleached the tank its been soaking for 48 hours in bleach and water mix. Soak her in a tub and clean her new enclosure everyday with mite spray. Going to get the prevent a mite tomorrow at the local reptile store thanks for the recommendations and advice to all. So far I didn't see any mites in the water today after her soak and no mites on the paper towel before I changed it but I did use the mite spray on the enclosure let it soak for 5 minutes then wiped it down and soaked her for about 45 minutes to rehydrate her since I read alot of the mite products dehydrate them she is acting much more like she use to and no mites so far. I know that I don't wanna count this as a WIN yet but what else would you all recommend for me at this point? Or should I just keep up with the daily cleaning?
thanks kindly,
Lance
P.S. My ball python female yellow belly says thanks too

When you get the PAM, put fresh substrate (enough to perform a cage cleaning with) in a container and lightly spray it down with PAM. Do this outside of your herp room. Let it sit overnight.
The next day remove all of the old substrate, hides, water bowls, etc. and give the cage a thorough cleaning. Place her back in the enclosure with the substrate you treated the night before. Wash the water bowl in the dishwasher, and spray her hide with PAM and let it sit out for a couple of hours.
While PAM claims to give 30 days of protection, I would treat another batch of substrate in two weeks and repeat the above process a second time.

When one of my purchases from a show came home with a 'bonus' (mites, of course) I bought a can of PAM, sprayed her enclosure down, let it air out... no more mites. One treatment, that was it. And due to proper quarantine, the mites didn't get anywhere else, either.
So, I'll vouch for Provent-A-Mite, too. Worth every penny.
Oh, but as others have warned, please follow the instructions on the can to the T. DO NOT spray it on your animal and make sure you remove any water bowls from the enclosure before you treat it.

Lance, it's very possible that your local store won't carry Provent-A-Mite, and you may have to order it online. I puchase mine from http://www.pro-products.com
Also, I know that one of our members here sells it at the shows that he attends, you could PM him and see if he could ship some to you. His username here is cardell75. Charles Cardell.
