    my ball python bitting

    so i was wondering if any one could tell me why my ball python would be lightly bitting my leg as if she was tasting me lol. i just feed her yesterday.

    Hi, and welcome to BP.net!

    Ball Pythons sometimes will just bite down on you. I've heard that they just slowly do it, and sit there for awhile. I've never had it done to me, although I sort of wish one of mine would. I hear it's pretty funny!

    When you say lightly biting, do you mean she is "chomping" so to speak?

    How old is she, and what are you feeding her? What type of enclosure is she in, and what are the temps/humidity?

    I don't know how often pythons do this, but she could just be trying to burrow under you... my western hognose does that all the time, and it feels like a nibble due to her sharp pointy nose. BPs don't have that sharp nose, but maybe she's really digging in?

    If you fed it yesterday, you shouldn't be holding for 2 days to allow them to digest their food.

    Absolutely. At least 24 hrs to digest, and preferably 48!
