    An Unexpected Little Present (DUW)

So a few weeks ago my boyfriend and I were setting up a fire pit thing (used to be an indoor fireplace I think) that he'd picked up from some guy. I was working on our wireless issues inside when he was hollering for me to come look at a spider. Didn't think much of it until I saw this guy (could be female, going with male for ease)

My boyfriend put him in a jar, and I eventually took him home with me and named him Freddy. He now lives in a quart jar covered with cheese cloth and has a virosan refill cap from proexotics' little capsule things for a waterbowl xD I've been trying to ID him and all I can get is that he's NOT a hobo spider, and can't climb vertical surfaces (probably the only reason I haven't squished him, I'm usually not a spider person when they can dart all over and deliver nasty defensive bites). The awesome part about him is that he's big enough to eat any other spiders I find around the house along with pill bugs and crickets and other small things I gather when I feel like it. He's turned out to be an easy and very fascinating pet to have

Best pic of his abdomen I got through the glass

I'll post more pics later, he's got a really neat web going all around the whole bottom of the jar now, and doesn't mind me picking him up and looking at him every once in a while (goes awesome on my curio shelves actually )

Man, I just CANNOT do spiders. I'm glad there are people in the world that can, though, just like I'm glad there are people in the world that can do snakes

    Nice addition for you!
