    Normal Hatchling?

Hi everyone. I was wondering if this little hatchling is something other than normal. I've hatched quite a few normals but haven't seen one with the little head spot this one does and the light sides.

Just a little background, I purchased the momma in March. After 60 day QT I put in a lesser with her. Although no confirmed locks, she ovulated on June 7th and went to lay eggs on August 1st. 5 good eggs, 1 slug. The lesser was the only one I put her with.

Fast forward to Saturday Aug 25. I cut the eggs open and 3 pinstripes, 2 normals? Apparently she retained sperm from a previous lock. The 2 normals both have this spot on their head and their sides appear much lighter than most of the normals that I have hatched.

Any ideas or are they just nice normals?

First pic is the normal and the 2nd shot is a pic of the group. Sorry for the blurry pic....

    Thank you!

Looks like a pretty normal, i would wait until they are out of the egg and shed for the first time, till we start making any assumptions.

    Re: Normal Hatchling?

Thank you Steve. I was planning to do that as well. Just looked quite a bit different then most normals that I've hatched. Thought maybe someone would have an insight from a similar that they've hatched. Thanks!

Some het pieds and het ghosts will have a light spot on their head. If i'm not mistaken...I think I see het pied markers on the lower right snake? Just my thoughts.

Do you know the person you purchased her from? Maybe ask what last seasons pairings were?

I had one that was similar. Just a super light baby though. I thought it was something weird as well lol.

My baby BP has a spot EXACTLY like that on her head--and I mean, exact, even the location of it is dead on.
She's just a normal though. Maybe it IS some kind of het marking and you and I will get lucky!

    Talking Re: Normal Hatchling?

Thank you all for your replies. I figured as much as well. The other hatchling not pictured has that spot that is really defined. Much like a 3 leaf clover. I may try to post a pic of him/her later this evening.

I'm pretty much betting on them being normals just looking at the clutch entirely. I believe the seller only bred to co-doms so unless they had something that he wasn't aware of, I'm set on saying they are normals.

    Thanks!
