Yep. Never a need to defend your home where you live.

I hope you're right. I hope you never have to face armed intruders who care about your life as much as they care what flavor of gum they're chewing. I really do.

I really wish the CMP would wake up and sell the M1A. I know they've got a ton of them stashed away somewhere, and I'd love to grab one without having to pay through the nose like we do now. I just got my Garand through the program, and I'm really enjoying it.

My latest acquisition is a Schmidt-Rubin K31. I snagged it for under $300 with a matching s/n bayo, and I couldn't be happier (scope not included...)

The mechanicals are NRA excellent, with a superb trigger, and it shoots 1.5" groups with Swiss Surplus ball. The round is very close to .308 ballistics.

If you have any interest in surplus rifles, I urge you to grab one of these while they're so cheap.

    Re: Guns, Firearms, Boomsticks, etc.

Awesome firearms guys! Right now I have an M4 and a Walther P22... Don't have access to pics at the moment, but I'll try to get some up later.

I hope I never have to defend my home, but I sure do sleep easy knowing I do have the means to protect my wife and I from armed intruders. In a perfect world we could all just prey and the bad guys would disappear, but the fact remains that there are some terrible people out there and they would not think twice about walking into my home and taking anything they want (including our lives)... Sometimes a different course of action is required.

All that being said... Firearms are a great recreation and I have been hunting and sport shooting since I was able to go with my dad as a young child. over the years he has taught me great responsibility and even better marksmanship!

Pics are definitely an added bonus! It is great getting to hear about everyone who shares the same recreational interest in shooting!

Someone has actually already attempted a break in into my house. Thankfully, they didn't make it past the steel back door. I rent, and thank the landlady for having that installed. They did manage to ruin the non deadbolt locking mechanism enough to warrant a replacement. I guess my Dad raised me to be very aware that most people who are willing to break in are also willing to dispatch any witnesses. With my bedroom being on the first floor of the rental house, I can hear anything unusual before those upstairs do.
