Remember the average female only lays 6 eggs, it may take you up to 3 yrs (18 eggs) to get your Caramel Clown and if it was kinked it could possibly take you another 3 years to get another one. I would have chosen a Ultramel Clown over the Axanthic Clown though. I really love the rich colors of Caramels & Ultramels over Axanthic, but dollar of dollar Id put my money into the axanthic over caramel. Ultramels are another story.
in response imagine if you hit the 1/16 odds and its not kinked tho
kinking is when the snake spine isn't straight, its kinked.

Ok, thanks. Is kinking usual in caramels? because I´ve never heard before about this problem.

Yes, from my understanding it happens more than a lot of people would like to see. I know that is why a lot of breeders stay away from Caramel projects.

kinking is a risk that I am willing to take. I will say this about genetic flaws if I ever do make any they will be culled. I know some people say just adopt it out, but I am sorry I do not want to even take the slightest chance that some idiot would breed it. I really do not see it any different then people breeding spider balls with the wobble. Some spiders have the wobble and some don't just have to weed through until you get the desired results without the genetic deformities.
My close friend that I got my caramel project from (Def. Hets) did not produce one kinked caramel with the three years of breeding (think he produced 7 caramels in that time). I know that both hets though were from seriously out crossed lines so I guess diversity is one key to the non-kinking. I will have to choose the caramel clown for mine. Not really because I am shooting for them in the future, but because I love the ones I have seen already over axanthic clowns.
