The mouth of this baby is harder to open..

for some reason when i went to examine this babies mouth, it was really hard to open using the squeeze behind the jaw technique, i have done this to all my other snakes in the past to check for resp. i had to slide a credit card in between his teeth to get him to open. there is no outward sign of jaw deformaty but his teeth do seem bigger. is there any way the teeth are locking his mouth from opening?

oh, and for some reason his teeth were all the way out of the gums, unlike the normal retracted position

There is no reason to be checking as you do. You have most likely misaligned the jaw of the snake. He can most likely realign it himself, but may need some assistance if you have tweaked it badly.

Post up some pictures and leave their jaws alone.

I agree, unless respiratory infections are rampant in your collection, there is zero reason to have to open your ball python's mouth.
