    My first RTB!!!

I was at the Cleveland reptile show this weekend with my wife and we decided to pick up our first Red Tail Boa! She weighs in at a wopping 64 grams!

I do have one question pertaining to her genetics. The breeder told us that she is Super DH Sunglow. He also mentioned that she is a carrier of the lipstick and stripe gene. To be honest...breeding her is/was not part of our agenda, but we did like the thoughs of picking a girl up that had some breeding potential.

Now back to my genetics question...What is Super DH Sunglow? I've heard of sunglows before...they are Hypo Albino's correct? What's the super part?

    Here are some pics!

    Thanks for any insite!

A super double het sunglow is a super salmon het albino. All of the offspring of a super salmon will be all salmons. So if you bred her to an albino, you would create sunglows and double het sunglows (salmon het albinos).

Looking at the pictures...does she appear to be Super Dh Sunglow?

It is a little tough to say, but I would say yes. Her saddles are pretty reduced, which is normal with super salmons. However, some salmons (non-supers) have reduced saddle pattern. The only way to create a definate super salmon is to breed a super salmon to a super salmon. Did the breeder tell you what the parents were?

He's at every show, so it would be very easy to find out. I'm not really doubting what he labled her as...I just don't know enough about RTB morphs to know what she is or what makes her what she is.

If your saying she looks like she could be a Super DH Sunglow and that's what I bought her as, then she more than likely is that? I think that makes sense?

    Thanks!

Yea, I'm sure she is. She is a good looking girl. Now all you need is a male albino to pair her up with...

Thanks! Like I said, our initial plans weren't to breed her, but we may be picking up a nice male albino that the breeder also had.

Does anyone on here have a pic of an adult Super DH Sunglow?
