Thoughts on how long to wait before picking your snake up after feeding

    Hey guys,

I was wondering. I have the Live VS FT thread, but another thing i was EXTREMELY curious about, is how long after feeding your snakes do you handle them?

    Thanks

I handle my snake 48 hours after he has had a meal.

    Thanks for the reply

I am thinking about waiting 48 hours instead of 24, 48 hours seems like a better way to do it

    Thanks again

    Any other opinions/votes? lol

    Depends on the situation.
I handle them enough to change their tubs if they poop and or pee in them, especially if they're still in 6qt tubs.
While I don't generally handle them the day they eat, I don't let it stop me from keeping their homes clean.

I usually wait 2, sometimes 3 days after feeding to handle them. The only thing I will do during that time is change water, and scoop out any urates or feces...

Thanks snakesrkewl, I was wondering about if I should even mess with the enclosure at all. I was worried about changing the water lol. Thanks for that post!

I try for 48 hours for handling. I'll do whatever maintenance I need to at any time after feeding in that 48 hours. I'll just scoot them to the other side of the tank/tub if need be.

Usually 2 days unless I have to clean up a big mess.

I will do this next time, I think doing what you are doing will be good because its not really holding them but at the same time you are doing what needs to be done lol

This seems like the common thing that everybody does, seems some do it with the 24 hour rule instead though

    Thanks for the comments
