    They all have tails...

I was so excited for my first batch of manx male x het manx female babies and there are ten beautiful little babies...all with tails :-(

I have 17 more het females to go through before I give up LOL.

Hopefully, my male will last at least one more round while these second gen het females grow and I will try breeding him to them if their are no manx babies in the first gen.

    remember our chat about genetics....

remember you explaining those cute little cubes that people claim always pan out....

now you know first hand, genetics is not an exact science.

Well, I'm keeping these females in birthing tubs so there will be hopefully be very few baby casualties. So, I'm guessing that with 17 females left I will get at least 170 more shots at a tailless baby LOL.

What else do I have to do with my time? LOL.

It seems if it was a recessive trait then you'd get 50% tailless when breeding a tailless to a het tailless.

But when I read up on them it seems to be a random mutation?

Well...I'm still planning on getting a few. I don't think that I can have 18 females pop and not get any. I guess I could, but I'm sure that I will get at least a few.

I hope you do, that is a trippy mutation

I've been focusing on dwarfs and getting more colors into my dwarf lines, especially Himalayan and agouti.

    Fun with genetics
