what size tub should Ibuy to house my adult ball python....
I am building my first rack this week and just wonder what size tubs you guys use for adults? Not all my snakes are adults but I want to build the rack to be able to hold them when they are. I was thinking going with a 41 quart (36x16x6 roughly). What do you guys and girls think?

36x16 is a good size.
Most breeders use the CB-70 size tub in their adult bp racks.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"

Re: what size tub should Ibuy to house my adult ball python....
got another question.....
all the tubs i have found don't lay flat on the ground...they are raised up a few cenimeters by a ridge on the bottom. Is that okay? I guess I can just raise the temps a few degrees on my theromstat to make up for that. whatch think?

For my adult females, I use the 41qt sterlites which have the ridges and it works just fine. My males I keep in the 32qt tubs.

I use 32 quarts (23 5/8" L x 16 3/8" W x 6 1/2" H) for males and 41 quarts (34 7/8" L x 16 5/8" W x 6 1/8" H) for females

You have to watch the tubs that have the middle raised as it acts like a bubble. If you push down on the raised part, you can see that the floor of the tub actually rests lower than the edges. If you are using heating cable/tape/pads on the bottom, you have to make sure that the raised part doesn't touch the heat source. I struggled with this for a while but then just decided to get different tubs. Walmart offers Sterlite tubs that are flat on the bottom and they are cheaper than most other retail stores. I suggest you use them
