Need help on silver bullet gene

What will a silver bullet bring to the table when working towards a panda pied. I am going to breed my pied female with my cinnamon male, but I have an opportunity to possibly trade for a silver bullet male. Any input will be helpful.

    Thanks!

Re: Need help on silver bullet gene

if i can remember correctly, a silver bullet is a super cinnamon pastel. So..all the offspring from silver bullet x pied are

    cinnamon 100% het pied
    pewter 100% het pied

no normals with a silver bullet. thats the value of super forms in breeding.

No, that is the super pewter.
Which means u breed it to a normal, and get a clutch of pewters.
Which, is not the silver bullet.

You got it except the streak is BP and Sterling is Cinnamon.

The Silver bullet will help you in your quest for the Panda Piebald more then just the Cinnamon would.

It will allow me to at least get the cinnamon het pieds I need for the panda, or pewter het pieds. With the cinnamon I would have possibly had some het pieds...this way I am gauranteed being on my way to a pretty awsome combination in a few years.

By making sure that all your het pieds are cinnamons, you increase the chances of producing female cinny het pieds from 1/4 to 1/2 per egg. Even without the bonus pewter het pieds, that'd be worth the price of the ticket, I think!

(side note: we don't call sterlings and silver streaks the same thing. Are we going to be calling both super black pastel pieds AND super cinnamon pieds pandas as well?)
