Short time between sheds
Can anyone tell me if its unusual for my BP to shed again in less than 4 weeks? My female had her last shed on Aug 7 and when i saw her yesterday her eyes were that familiar blue zombie look and her skin that dull cloudy look.so i put off her weekly meal.I suppose it might have to do with that she has added considerable length and weight over the last 6 weeks, but it never hurts to get more experienced opinions. She is 14 months old is 33.75 inches and now weighs 445 grams..is this all normal...thanks....still a relative newbeee

Re: Short time between sheds
I have a Mojave that has been shedding about every 5 weeks - it took me by surprise but I guess he is just growing like a weed.
I don't think there is anything to worry about just as long as the sheds are coming off in one piece.

This is completely normal. I have a 2010 hatchling that sheds every four weeks. This means that your snake is growing.

My new 2010 babies are doing the same thing. Makes me happy to see them in shed. I know I am doing something right and that they are happy. My adult corn snake will shed ever 4 weeks on occasion. Personally I think he just likes rats a little too much.
Too many snakes to list. Ball pythons, Gtp's and Boa's. It easier to say it that way.

My most extreme examples of shed frequency just recently happened. I have a female lesser that was delivered to me on the 4th of April @ 210 grams. She shed on the 11th of Aug & again on the 29th. She was 785 grams on the 29th right after shedding and defecation. One thing worth noting after shedding and defecating on the 11th she was was 671 grams. She took a 86 gram medium rat on the 14th. I meant to feed her a small rat and placed a medium rat meant for an adult in her tub. That single meal could have induced her to shed a 2nd time. Atleast I have heard of this happening with other species.
I also have a HRA I purchased at a show on 25th of Jul @ 270 grams. She's a late 09 hatched girl and presently my most aggressive feeder. She shed on the 11th of Aug 10 it was her first shed for me. She just shed out again yesterday 1 Sept 10. After shedding and defecating yesterday she was 515 grams. She took a 52 gram small rat on the 14th its been her largest meal so far.

It's completely normal for a well fed, young, bp to shed relatively close together.
Also there is no need to put off feeding her just because she's in shed. It's a total myth that bps don't eat when in shed, most do. All of mine get fed on the same day regardless of who is or isn't in shed. Most people follow the same regime I do.
