Question about cage aggression (retic)

Okay, so i love my retics and have had my fair share of them but ive never had this problem.

I have a few 5-7fters and i jsut moved them from large tubs to 4x2x2s and they all have become horribly cage aggressive. I know it migh tnot be smart, but when they were in tubs i could pull the lid off, reach in and pull them out, no hissing curling or striking of any kind, but now as soon as i slide open the glass, especially my female sunfire, curls up and lunges at me instantly!!! if i dodge the lunge and get some bravery up, then hook her and pull her out, shes a little puppy like usual.

Has this happened to anyone else? Im kinda at a loss. I cant find tubs big enough for a bigger retic, and eventually they are going to need large pro style cages... i just dont know what to do lol. my first 4 'tics i raised from 3 to 13-15ft and never ever ever ever had aggression issues like this.


quick notes, they arent fed in their enclores, nor were in their tubs. Handled at least every 3 days for at least 30-90 minutes and are fed every 7-9 days appropriate if not a big bigger than they should meals

I would say...give them some time to settle in to their new cages, maybe they are just unsure about living in new quarters.

thats what i figured too theyve had 3 weeks, the first 5 days i didnt even go in my reptile room

Yep, give them time to adjust...Most of mine have that feeding response reaction...Even got tagged last night on my hand from one when I was taking her out, I wasn't quite quick enough, LOL...But like normal, after using the hook and getting her out she was fine...

This is normal, just be on your toes...
