    Rack Material Question

    Has anyone tried to build a rack with PVC-X sheeting? It seems like a possible lightweight alternative to melamine.

    That's what most rack manufacturers use. Animal Plastics, Reptile Basics, etc...

    Yes, but it's expensive, no?

    Generally, if you're building your own rack, it's to save money. If you wanted to go the PVC or ABS route, I'd suggest getting them from repti-racks or dragons4you.

    Usually a little over $100 for a 4x8 sheet of 1/2" I think. It'll still save you money over buying them pre-made if you build it yourself. It can be pretty tough to find locally for a good price though.
