    when to wean

    my female finally had her babies today. when should they be weaned?

    should is whenever you feel fit

    I usually let them in with momma until 4 weeks. Anything after that and you can get into trouble. They can become sexually mature around 5 weeks old.

    If you're not in a high production breeding system 28 days is fine. You can wean them fast than that, but if you don't have to wean them faster 28 days is pretty much ideal.

    I don't know what week I wean mine on, I pretty much go with what I think/feel. I wean when their eyes are open and they are active. If they are active they are eating solid foods.

    I usually wean at 21-24 days
