There are a lot of reputable breeders and pastels are pretty inexpensive on the range of morphs. Good choice :-) Around 90$ now.

Why are you scared of a ball python? What gets you nervous about it? lol. Its all good, I'm scared of one of my hatchlings because she keeps snapping at me lol.

Re: Why are ball pythons so addicting?

They are addictive to me because of the insane variation even among examples of the same morph. I bought my first bp 2 years ago and now own 7. I recently went to buy ONE and ended up buying FIVE.

Re: Why are ball pythons so addicting?

Last summer I bought a male normal as a pet from a friend that bred his and now I own 7 balls! I always go to shows to just look but the last few shows I came home with a new pet and spend more then I had planned! It got so bad that I promised my wife that I will not go to anymore shows until I have bred and made money off of what I have! Our big breeder expo is in September and that will be my last for awhile!

Re: Why are ball pythons so addicting?

Why? Because they're so cute, adorable, gorgeous, docile, cool, awesome, easy, nice, chillin', pretty, fun, fun to feed, better than any other pet...etc...

I started last March. I have 2.7 already. I'm picking up a 0.1 piebald next week! Can't Wait!!!! They are SOOOOOOOO addicting!!!! I NEVER wanted any pets. I can't stand cats (allergic, smell, just don't like 'em), and I don't like dogs all that much, don't mind them, if they're not mine. But I LOVE BPs. I'm on BP.net all the time! My wife is getting sick of it...better take her to the herp show in Oct. in SLC for a good getaway, right? Anyway...they're so addicting because they're just so darn cool and cute!
Lots of BPs, and still not enough!

This is addictive...what did I get myself into?...

Re: Why are ball pythons so addicting?

    Haha, ClarkT nailed it xD

I've only recently gotten ball pythons that I personally own, but I've been obsessed/captivated/dreaming about balls (and other reptiles) for YEARS! They're the ideal pet if you don't mind it not loving you back. You as the owner loving the animal is the most important part of the equation, and if they're as easy as balls are to keep, why not get one? Or two... Or ten

Re: Why are ball pythons so addicting?

I read this quote somewhere but can't remember where but it says:
"Ball pythons are like Pokemon, you tell yourself you won't get sucked in but some how you just gotta catch'em all!"

I laugh everytime I think of it, but it's sooooo true.
I think what drives most people is all the different morphs you can buy and if you want to breed the different combos you can make, plus what better feeling is it than experiencing one of your pets lay eggs and then see those little snakes come out of the egg. I can't wait for the experience this November is my first season.
