Bottle or Tap???
Hey guys. Just wondering...do you put bottled water or tap water in your snake's water bowl? I use bottled water- didn't want to risk all the chemicals that usually come along with tap water...

Re: Bottle or Tap???
Well, in my area we have pretty good tap water, so I use the tap water. If I lived somewhere where the tap water was not that great, I would use filtered or bottled water.

Re: Bottle or Tap???
I use tap water and my water is very hard. I've been thinking about whether it might be bad for my snake or not... I mean, its drinkable, doesnt have a horrible taste or anything but just pretty hard. Does anyone have input on if its ok to use hard tap water?
I have a Brita pitcher that we keep in the fridge, I could use that but the water is obviously cold and I didnt know if it was ok to fill the snakes bowl with very cold water.

Re: Bottle or Tap???
If you're worried about the chlorine and fluoride in tap water... Just fill a pitcher and let it sit for 24 hrs. All of that will evaporate.
(I use tap water)

Re: Bottle or Tap???
I use tap water. I mean if the snake can eat uncooked rodents without getting sick, I'm sure it can handle drinking-safe tap water.

Pretty sure it's bad to leave it out...not only will the Cl and F not evaporate (think of salt water, only the water evaporates leaving the salt behind - even if it was dissolved) plus mold spores/dust could get in the sitting water.
I used distilled water (you can get a gallon of it for like $0.50 at walmart) just in case cuz I have really hard water too. I was just too worried about what all the chemicals could do. I mean, too much chlorine could be bad for humans even...
