Re: pics of my snake i think that there is something wrong with him.

The remaining eye seems to be bulging out a little bit, am I the only one seeing that? I've seen baby corn snakes that got some sort of fluid buildup under their ocular scale causing it to seem inflated/bulged. Do you know how it lost the eye?

Re: pics of my snake i think that there is something wrong with him.

Ok here is the story on him. I purchased a snake from a breeder and was told it was tame. Well it was not tame at all so i put him on a local clasified add to see if someone was intrested in a trade. I had a pinstripe that was really nice looking but i did not want him for breeding. The guy i traded with told me about the eye and once we met i admit i was not smart about it when i took the snake from him now that i look back. I did read up on them before we got the first one and i never saw anything about not housing them together. The temp and humidity is all fine in the tank. So yes i made a bad choice with getting him but here i am and i just need a little help on what to next. And thank you to every one for all the help. He said the eye was like that when he got him and that a feeder was to blame.

I think you did an awesome thing adopting an animal that no one would most likely choose. Koodos!!! This only shows ...IMO.. that you are a kind soul and care for all living things weather or not they are "normal". As I said... Good luck with him. I hope you don`t get discouraged.

His eye does look a bit swollen. That is my only concern. Has it been that way for awhile or has it progressively gotten worse? That eye could also have been injured by the same feeder and somehow there is now fluid buildup behind the eye.

I would take him to a vet and just be proactive to make sure he doesn't lose another eye. :]

It's unfortunate the previous owner won't be professional and mature.
But I'm glad the bp is now in someone's care in which it's saftey will actually be considered.

Letting something like his feeder injure the snake's eye in that way reflects how poorly the previous owner cared for the snake and valued it's health and safety. To be honest I doubt the seller even took him to a vet post the feeding accident. Poor snake...

Is it just me, or does he look like a (quite pretty) black pastel?

Aside from the missing eye, I think he looks okay for now... nothing that regular appropriate-sized meals and proper husbandry can't fix. Do you know how old he is?

Re: pics of my snake i think that there is something wrong with him.

It looks to me like the snake also has a kinked neck. Has this snake ever taken a meal? You should take it to a vet--to have the missing eye socket checked to make sure it is healing properly, the remaining eye checked to make sure there is nothing more than a retained eye cap (which the vet can remove), the kink evaluated (will this snake be able to eat a proper meal?) and a fecal done.

It looks to me like you got ripped off in the trade, and that's why the person you traded with is not communicating with you now. You gave them a healthy pinstripe, and they gave you a snake that is missing an eye, has a kinked neck, has possibly never eaten and who knows what else...

In my opinion while a possibility after seeing the other pictures you posted of the other side, I believe that it might not be the case, the animal seems slightly deformed (the other eye is not normal either.)

The entire problem could be genetic but could also be something that occur during incubation.

Sadly given how the trade went I doubt you will ever know the truth.

It's unfortunate that you got rip off in this trade but sadly some people (especially on Craigslist) sometimes will not hesitate to take advantage of people with less experience.

Either way as long has everything else is fine with him, if he eats, poops etc I am sure he will make a great pet.

Hopefully everything will be ok with him even if he is not perfect.

Note: As far as "tame" remember that the term does not apply to snakes they are wild animals while they can be very laid back you always need to keep this in mind.

Also keep in mind that young animals tend to be a bit more nippy, it's nothing personal they are just a bit more defensive but grow out of it quickly.
