My red tail hasn't ate in a while.

We got him a few months back and we were told that he hadn't eatin since october, He's been offered food multiple times but won't eat. He's around 7 feet and now is starting to look a little skinny.
Does anyone have any advice?
I never reached the previous owners to ask what she fed him.

-It seems that this is a problem that started with the previous owners, I would look at taking it to the vet to be checked out for any possible internal parasites.

-Since you don't know what the previous owner was feeding, have you tried offering anything other than rats? (rabbits, guinea pigs)

-Are you offering live, pre-killed, or F/T? If you are offering P/K or F/T, how do you present the prey to the snake?

The temps and humidity are ideal i've already thought about that.

I usually take him out of his enclosure and put him in a separate tank for feeding. I havent tried anything besides rats so I'll give that a try for before I take him to the vet. And I offer live.

Have you tried feeding in his enclosure and not moving him to a separate tank?

If you are going to try offering a live rabbit or guinea pig, be very careful. Rabbits, while soft and furry, can become hostile, aggressive, and downright mean, and they will fight once they realize they are cornered.

I only suggested the vet trip because this boa hasn't eaten in 8 months and that is highly uncharacteristic of a boa...

yeah i've tried that too. He just ignores it.

I would suggest to try posting on RedTailBoa.net or RedTailBoa.com. They are where alot of the boa brains hang out. They maybe able to offer some more suggestions than what I'm coming up with right now...
