Stopped eating F/T

Couple questions here...

My female cinnamon BP was eating F/T mice and then I switched her to rats eventually. About 2 months ago she stopped eating anything F/T but she will eat a live mouse. That was the only live mouse I've given her since she stopped eating though. I know BP's are fine for an extended period of time without food so I'm not too worried about that yet, but is there a reason she would just all of the sudden stop eating F/T?

I've tried everything I can think of to get her back on them (braining, pre-scenting the room, throwing the F/T in with a live mouse to scent it, etc etc..). I've been told I could try scenting them in tuna juice or chicken broth as well but never tried that. Anyone have any other suggestions I might try?

It's not really a problem if I have to keep feeding live, just a matter of convenience

Oh and one more question... I've never fed her a live rat yet so I'm not sure if it will come up or not, but when people say they feed their BP more than 1 mouse at a time, how does that work? Do they actually let the snake strike each mouse separately or do they put the next mouse into the snakes mouth as they finish the first? Sorry may be a dumb question lol

Some balls just can be really picky and only like f/t for a certain period of time and then only like live all of a sudden. Some people would say let her go hungry until she will eat f/t again, but live for a snake really isn't that big of a deal.

It depends on what your snake likes when feeding multiple prey. One of our balls has been raised on live, so it's just what he gets since we adopted him. He was also raised to eat in a feeding container so he gets fed in a tote haha. I give him one live mouse, then when he's done and moving around, he gets another.

For frozen, some snakes will still be eating one mouse and be a voracious enough feeder to grab another one while they are still swallowing the first.

It's good to feed one prey at a time, so I would wait until they are done swallowing the first to offer a second, f/t or live.

I bought a 900g (08') female pastel about a month ago. I was advised by the previous owner that she eats F/T mice only. Last week was her first feeding and she smelled the F/T mouse for a good minute, then struck it, coiled it, and ate it. About 10 minutes later, I offered another mouse and she did the same exact thing. I was just happy she was eating and eating F/T at that. Well, last night I offered her another mouse and she wanted nothing to do with it. I tried again 30 minutes later and she totally ignored it. I decided to leave two F/T mice on the cool side of her tub and just go to bed, which was around 11pm. I woke up at 2am to remove the mice and when I opened her tub, the mice were gone and she was moving around actively. I looked all around her tub just inc case she may have moved the mice around but they were gone. The previous owner advised me that he usually has to do the Zombie Dance for a minute or two to get her to take the mouse. I guess she doesn't mind them laying there for her to eat at her convenience. Next week, I am going to leave a F/T weaned rat and hopefully she takes it!

I also have a bee and another pastel that have eaten live there whole lives. It has been about a month since I aquired them and they have not taken any F/T I have offered. I am not going to offer them any live and hopefully they start getting hungry and take the F/T soon.

Depending on the size and age of your snake, there are a few things you should and shouldn't do.

A baby snake can not go very long without food. An adult snake on the other hand can go months and months. So while "tough love" can work for adults, it isn't always the best course of action for a baby.

If your snake is on the bigger side than tough love might work. Sometimes the adults will go on random fasts and will usually pick up eating in a month or two. If your snake isn't loosing weight then I wouldn't worry about it much.

Have you tried feeding her a f/t after the live feeding? The live feeding might have been enough to get her back on feed.

As for feeding multiples. Put one mouse in, wait until it is all the way down and the snake is moving about, and then drop the second in.
