    New show pickup!

I just went to the San Diego Super Reptile Show, and came back with a new little girl... she's an '08 Stimsons Python, and was a holdback that he decided to sell here. I negotiated a good price for her, and think she and James will make some beautiful babies!

Btw, she will be in a hotel room with me until tomorrow or Tues, and is set up in a 6qt tub I brought... I also have a heat strip but no thermostat/dimmer, so the seller said she'll be fine without for a few days - it's pretty warm here. Seems to be settling in fine, and I'm planning to call her "Veruca" (Salt) to go along with my themes:

Thanks to both of you! I love her eyes too, but not sure if they'll stay that color (my other Stimsons has green eyes)... anyone know??

    Re: New show pickup!

P.S. She appears to have a really nice temperament so far, and was totally comfortable with me... not surprising, since my other one (James) is the most mellow snake ever!

Thanks! He said she was "pick of the clutch," and her color/contrast really is amazing for an '08...

    Re: New show pickup!

You don't see too many Stimpson Pythons for sale in Maryland. They are beuatiful snakes. Usually have a very good temperament too.

    Great snake!

    Re: New show pickup!

Thanks, and yes they are addictive! You also don't see many of them around here (at least not up in Northern CA), which is why I was excited to find such a pretty girl at the show... I saw a few other Stimsons there, but they were tiny '09s and not as attractive. If all goes as planned, you will hopefully see some babies from her in about 1-2 years.

Btw, they really do have wonderful temperaments, at least from my experiences. I didn't even know what this species was, until Skiploder (from this forum) offered James when I went to buy a rack from him. This guy is such a sweetie, and LOVES to burrow himself in my hair...
