    Shedding

So I went on vacation last week and just got back yesterday. Well i checked on my snake and it was just chilling in its hide so i figured it was all good. I unpacked and did other stuff last night so i didn't really look at it anymore. Well today I go to check on it and I see a big bunch of shed skin poking out the hide. I didn't even know it was going into a shed and the humidity was about 45%. I looked at the snake and it looked fine no left over shed or anything I could see. I would have bumped up the humidity if I had known it was about to shed.

But I never even saw it come out of the hide and its shed was inside the hide is that something they normally do or what?

And I guess it was ok for the humidity to be a little lower than suggested i didn't see a problem but next time I will still try to have it higher.

Yeah, mine shed inside her hide the first time (before I switched to plastic bowls that were probably too light to stay under while pushing and stuff like they do.)

The humidity bump is really just a precaution. Some need it, some don't. I recently heard that they should be able to shed normally at 50%.

Alright I guess it was good this time then. I am using some light plastic bowls as hides though she does move them around sometimes just crawling around the tank I don't know how she shed inside it lol.

Most of mine do shed in their hide! That's normal!
