I will give the tail a tug if a snake is getting complacent with it's constricting.

I've just never heard it mentioned before. O_o With all the 'how to f/t' discussion, it never comes up. I still don't get it.

I really wouldn't even bother until I got something bigger.

Honestly I wouldn't even bother with those. It takes more energy for the snake to constrict and swallow it then the mouse provides.

Just go with one bigger meal on the next scheduled feeding day.

Clearly the big problem I see here is the music. The snake obviously isn't into this dubsteppy stuff and is waiting for some proper drum and bass. :b

What I'm curious about is mentioning getting him ready to eat live rodents. Is there a reason for switching to live if he's already taking f/t?

Also, I can't say I've ever noticed any rat blood from a feeding. I have seen a few hot, steaming godzilla poops, though.

Oh, they'll know how to eat live; you don't need to teach them anything for that.

Rat blood happens. Especially when the snake squeezes so hard the rat's scrotum explodes or it's eyeballs pop out or if you heat it up too much and it gets bloated or if it's just a slightly bloody f/t.

Well, wouldn't that mean it's done constricting?

You need to feed him two of those, or larger pey items. Thats pretty small for that size ball python. Good luck!
