    Question about Pie

I have a male pie that I'm getting tomorrow and my female 100% het the next week. Now I know if you breed them you get a 50% change of 100% hets and 50% chance for Pie. For those of you out there who have already bred this combo do those odds ever come out better for pie or it it just a case by case? I was just curious since I dont know anyone personally who has bred this combo.

    Re: Question about Pie

50% chance is for each egg. In a five egg clutch you could get no pieds, five pieds, or any number in between. It is completely random.

    Re: Question about Pie

Every egg has a 50/50 shot of being a "pie". Sometimes you get lucky and get more, sometimes you get unlucky and get less or even none. It's just like flipping a coin.

It's usually referred to as a "Pied" by the way.

    Re: Question about Pie

If you get a female piebald, you should hold her back, then when you breed her back to her father you will get all piebalds. As for het to visual, it is completely random, you just have to hope for the best.

    Re: Question about Pie

It really depends on the kind of pie. Some pies, like pumpkin and cherry just don't go together.

But other pies, like lemon and key lime should be a good match.

If on the other hand, you are talking about PIED snakes, then each egg has a 50% chance, so out of a 5 egg clutch you could get 5 normals that are 100% het for pied, 5 pieds, or anything in between.

if you get a female pied, don't waste her on a male pied, with soooo many combos out there, adding 100% het for pied to a clutch could turn out sweet. get 100% het pied females for your male plus you can breed him to other morphs too.
