5 day old embryo (WARNING!!! GRAPHIC!!)

Well one of the three giant eggs I got from one of my girls on the 7th died. The egg was starting to collapse and getting discolored and the veins had pretty much disappeared. Instead of just throwing it out though, I decided to cut the egg open and see what was going on. The fluid was very milky and cloudy and in some spots almost looked like a lightly cooked egg white. I found the embryo and took some pics of it and thought maybe some people would be interested in seeing what these baby snakes looked like at 5 days into incubation. I'm thinking the egg died on day 2 or 3, but waited till now to be 100% certain.
Anyways, here are the pics of the poor little guy/gal....

Nope, no twins in this one, just the single embryo inside. The other two eggs are doing fantastic though, super strong veins and healthy looking eggs, maybe there will be a twin in one of those!

Very amazing, thank you for sharing, and I'm sorry the little egg didn't make it. Good luck on the others for healthy hatchlings!

It is pretty amazing to see how much they change in just 50 days. Thanks guys, I figured if I was going to lose this little baby, it may as well serve a purpose and help further our knowledge of their development.
