AAARRRGHHH!!!


I am so sick of this crap!! Hollywood, STOP RELIEVING YOURSELF ON MY CHILDHOOD. First transformers was destroyed, then G.I. Joe, And countless others. That preview gets countless things wrong about Mortal Kombat Lore. Barakka was a warrior from Outworld, Scorpion was never a good guy he was akin to a demon, and Sub Zero was the only Shinobi with virtue. Reptile was totally changed just to add more senseless gore and unsightly imagery.


Why call it Mortal Kombat? It's nothing like the Original Games or movies! Not even a little. They're just using the license to draw in suckers who don't know any better, and change everything that made the original great without care.

They changed so much they could have tried to make an original movie, but no they have to butcher yet another thing I love and change it in the mind of the modern masses.

I agree that Hollywood has destroy many old school cartoon stories, but how did they destroy Transformers? I think they did pretty good. Same goes for Spiderman. G.I I haven't watched for obvious reasons, and probably wont unless someone makes me.

I like the old school Mortal Kombat movies, even if they came out a little goofy. They Story and the Characaters are still awesome.

how did they destroy Transformers?

On this I could write a book. But let me just give some obvious notes.

A) The look, this awful clockwork machine looking crap. They really look nothing like there Original cartoon counterparts or comic counterparts.

B) Vehicle Modes. The autobots were majorly screwed up by the chevy deal, Bumblebee who should be a beetle. Was always the plucky tiny failure of the team. Every now and then he'd come through but he was always more of a gnat than a threat. If they wanted a Golden sportscar then There's always Sunstreaker who was actually a yellow sportscar. The vehicle modes largely reflected the Personality's of the robot. Changing them loses this element.

C) Jazz. The Autobot's smooth talking second in command talked like a jazz man. Not some low class rapper.


D) To much human focus. Yes the autobots are there to protect humans, but even so humans never appeared as much in the show as there cybertonian counterparts. This over human focus hurt in my opinion.


The only thing they managed to get right were names and a few voice actors. Many personalities were changed and many classic elements were to.


Most Reboots erase elements they consider "Campy" or "Cheesy" but they either don't realize or don't care that they are eliminating a ton of heart and soul from the franchise.

I made myself watch the first movie about 8 months after it came out. But after all the previews and reviews I heard from friends I couldn't make myself watch the second one.


I know I am in the minority. It just makes me sad to see everything I love get stomped on by people who clearly don't care at all about it and just want to play of vague memories people have to make money.


Edit: And for the record I had no problem with spiderman, though they made changes they captured the SPIRIT of the franchise and thats what I am most adamant about.

I understand that they changed the cars alot around. But you gotta understand their side too. How many old school bettles do you see out in the streets in a dryly basis? If the Transformers movie was made 20 years ago, I would agree with you. There has also been many different Transformer series since then. I liked Beast Wars the most my self.

Old school beetles I see maybe 1 a week.


But why couldn't he be a NEW bug? I see those two or three times a day, sometimes more! Atleast make Bumblebee a compact. His character was never a sportscar at heart.


Just like soundwave, okay a tape deck, maybe not. But what about a cdplayer/radio. Or Even an Ipod.


EDIT: My point is if you can't respect the IP Don't use it. Make a new IP. Or atleast modify it in a way that makes sense. If I rewatched the movie I could come up with a ton of other reason but my stomach is already sick enough

I say FUND THE MOVIE WB.

This movie looks like it would be great.

Who cares if it doesn't follow exactly how it was before? Look at how great they re-did the batman movies.

The first mortal kombat movies were like watching episodes of power rangers.... sad.

As long as they don't butcher everything too bad, it will be cool.

I like how they are focusing on Sub Zero vs. Scorpion. That was always the coolest storyline anyway....
