    New pick up

    Hey .netters,

First, i would like to give props to Tom (tomfromtheshade), he followed thru with pm's and phone calls but unfortunately our work schedules and distance were not cooperating. Thank you for your time Tom.
I met up with a local rat breeder and picked these up, some will be breeders, some feeders. Thanks for looking.

the one looking at the cam is a female.

This one is a male, i might keep him.

another female, she was supposed to be a feeder but i might keep her.

    Re: New pick up

im working on making my colony all dumbos rights now. one of the females i had was a dumbo, so i took one of her sons and 5 females(all were almost completely black) and ive been raising them. sons been busy already, and the daughters are just getting up to size to breed him too. so hopefully i hit on the odds and the girls give me a bunch of dumbo baby girls! the son hasnt been breed back to mom yet.

EDIT: also is that the fine pine shavings? i just picked up a bag of it, and going from shaved aspen the the shredded pine has made one hell of a difference in the smell! i love it!!

I think I'd make the brown ones that look like they don't belong in the pet trade into feeders.

I was expecting a new snake pick-up! LOL

I believe it's the fine one. i do love that it helps the smell, i have no problem changing it weekly. BTW good luck on your dumbo project.

    Re: New pick up

I have 80 het dumbo females right now that will be ready to take the pork sword in about 4 weeks lol. I am making the switch to an all dumbo colony myself. They cost the same to raise so I figured why not?
