    New Pickups Enclosure

Today is a work since I got Herbert. He's already shed and pooped and I'm set to feed him tonight so I'd say he's settling in great.

I finally got around to installing my modified Acu-rite (I actually just got around to modifying it after a week lol) and installed it.

I ran the wires under the substrate and then up the corners of the tank and through the wire holes in the frame. Initially I glued them with hot glue to the glass, but then I figured the snake would get behind the wire and cause havoc.

This was fixed simply by taking a 12" piece of bamboo (about 3" in diameter) cutting it down to size and then splitting it into 4 quarters. 2 of the quarters are in the tank and 2 are saved for another occasion.

This is how the stats are looking immediately after I had the tank open for 10 minutes while I put the bamboo into place, they are leveling off at 81* cool, 92* warm and 56% humidity.

The entire enclosure. I created a humidity box using coconut bark and a Glad container because he was in shed when I first got him. I tried sphagnum moss, but I get much better humidity and control with the coconut bark. I think I might just leave it in, what does everyone think?

I'm gonna try and get pictures of Herbert tonight at feeding, but he's sleeping right now lol.

I won a package of it at repticon, its made by exo-terra and I know you can buy it at (i hate to say it) petco and petsmart.

    www.petsmart.com

On the package it gives directions to use it as substrate for an entire cage, I just cut an inch off the package and put it in water till it'd absorb no more and then put it in the tupperware container.

Nice setup and the Eco Earth stuff is pretty much everywhere, you can buy 1 brick or you can buy a pack of 3. It expands greatly and it holds humidity well, I actually use it to incubate Rhacodactylus eggs. Here's what it looks like:
