DIY Instructions
Has anybody here made any cages, backgrounds, lighting, heating, or just anything for their reptile? I am in the process of making a blog different diy plans and ideas to post. I want to make it a place where people can find everything in one spot, instead of searching everywhere for the info.
If you have any photos of anything you have made that you want to share or full blown step by step instruction, please share. All items shared will be be referenced to the user and this site.
Pretty soon I will start constructing cages like the types you see on cagesbydesign.com with custom rock walls. Once they take place I will share on this site and full instruction on my blog.

Thanks

Heres the link to the work log i created for the cage I built. Since completetion, I have added blue LED lights within the cage to provide lighting, but I am yet to get a decent picture of it.

That ak looks like it is in good shape. Cages look good too.
Love the styrofoam art. What are you going to paint it with? IDK man that snake is going to put beads all over the tank.

Re: DIY Instructions
I think I have decided to make that piece for the bottom of the tank. I still have to make up the sides and back. I will probably use colored grout then a little acrylic paint for details. I might go ahead and use watered down modge podge (i think) and put a few coats to seal it. I probably wont get to work on it until tomorrow night, so I still have a little time to attempt to plan some of this out.

A little more detail into what they are going to do with it
Usualy with Styro made walls what you do is cover it in a layer or two of grout, sometimes paint it, and then seal it reallly really good. After it is finished you basically have a home made rock wall. Its a very neat idea and fun to design things with, especally for climbing lizards and large cages because you can add "levels" to it or caves.
If you are really good you can do this,

but most people make them like these

I used to make gecko platforms with hides built in and they were alot of fun :p
Hijack over!

Come here little guy. You're awfully cute and fluffy but unfortunately for you, you're made of meat

Re: DIY Instructions
The only thing I have instructions for that I made was my big outdoor cage. I think the thread is on here somewhere if you want me to look for it.
Found it...

I can add more pics and instructions if you want to use it on your blog.
