    mini melt down

As most of you may know, my mother was diagnosed with cancer, back in Sept. so I moved in to take care of her, schedule dr appointments, chemo treatments, deal with insursnce companies etc., while making a 2hr round trip drive to care for my animals (Mom really didn't care for snakes ), I managed to bring the leos to her place (she ranted but gave in).

Well since her passing, I've dealt with funeral arrangements, ungrateful grubby siblings, lost my baby at 15 wks, and have to handle all the estate stuff.

My mother made me give her my word, that I would take care of my 74 y/o uncle, he's diabetic with prostate problems, doesn't take his meds like he should, and has a habit of taking too much of his insulin (he know more than the dr.'s), we go to 2-4 dr appointments a week. Him having an ulcer on his foot means dressing changes every other day.

I finally have moved all my snakes, rats down with me, and it seems like they are all back on feed, except 2 possibly gravid ones. My rack will be moved down this Thursday (I hope).

Now my ex-roommates daughter wants me to take her other 2 snakes, I borrowed her 6.5 foot boa for a week (to motivate my older sister into going back to Texas) it worked , so another boa & ball will be moving in. I also have his sons blizzard gecko who went off feed for months (it's eating again)

Once my rack gets here I'll feel better, no more re-arranging tubs to check on eveyone

This is what their room looks like now

I feel better now after my rant, Thanks

Thanks B. At least my animals are doing fine now that they have me every day. with everything that was going on before, I didn't start new breeder trios for my asf's (idiot me) so now it's like starting over with them, I am thankful that I have Jody (my rat guy) who sells asf's.

Its good to see you back here

I'm really sorry about your loss. You are a saint for helping your family, some people wouldn't take on all that responsibility plus keeping all their reptiles.

Hopefully things will settle down for you soon and good luck with the gravid girls .

wow...you did and still do have allot on your plate. I am sorry that you are going through all of this and wish I was closer...I would go get your racks for you!! What you did with your Mom and now your Uncle is one of the hardest things to go through...and no..there is no option but to go through it. I understand as we were there with my Aunt and my Step Father. Please remember to take time for yourself...maybe a 1 hour spa. I know it might seem you don't have time to fit it in....but make the time for a massage or something. It really does do wonders.

Not sure of your living situation or that of your Uncles....but might it be easier to either move him in with you or to find him an assissted living apartment. Not a full time hospital type of thing....the ones where they have actual apartments...and someone comes in and cleans for them...cooks for them..etc. It is still a private home that they keep up. ?? Just an idea.

All in all I wish you well and hope that you will take a little time for yourself.

    Re: mini melt down

It always makes me incredibly sad when I hear about the loss of a baby. I'm so, so sorry for all of the loss you have endured, but I'm particularly saddened about that. You are clearly a strong woman and you will be blessed and rewarded for all that you have sacrificed.
