    Re: ugh so aggravated (rant)

Grant you, our love for these creatures is hardly the rule out there amongst the general populous and I understand your frustration but try to channel that anger into a positive experience. I have run across people I'd love to just throw a big fat P/K rat in their face and smear the scent all over it then heave our Colombian boa Mr. Biggs right at their friggin' nose and have him lock onto their idiotic, stupid head with over 200 backward curving teeth all the while throwing his huge coils around their neck while the person dropped to the ground futilely trying to unwrap him from their ever reddening face while he choked off the air supply to that obviously empty skull which is supposed to contain a brain...but I digress.
the best quote i have EVER heard..i respect you more now hah!!

    Re: ugh so aggravated (rant)

For all those reading my response to the OP...

Thanks for the comments! For those who know me here I like to add humor when I can and yes, the wife and even our 3 girls and I all try to educate and inform people whom we meet that have a difference of opinion than us besides just doing the Critter Shows, as i'm sure all of you do too. But the humor part I injected in the paragraph (see above post) also gives a smack of how frustrating I also can get when it comes down to even trying to have a logical, black and white discussion with people as to why they feel the way they do about snakes. It is interesting that when walking outside with one of our 'boys' minding our own business just letting them get some fresh air and sunshine that people have no qualms about walking by us and verbally letting us know how disgusted they are at the fact we are holding a snake and yet those very same people would throw a conniption fit if we walked by them and did the same about the dog they were walking or some other such animal.

    Re: ugh so aggravated (rant)

WHen i first got my snakes a lot of people threw "snakes are the devil" and "theres a reason satan used a snake.." and all this junk that really aggrivates the heck outa me... Im a bible beliving, church going christian and i still think those comments are rubbish!

I am also curious if anyone has heard this next story... Because almost every other person i told about my snakes has retorted with it!

they say, "a lady owned a snake and slept with it every night (OKAY that right there is ur first problem with this story) but one night it began to stretch out beside her... and she though this was odd behavior so she took it to the vet and asked what was wrong. when she described his behavior the doctor told her the snake was "sizing her up" to eat." everyone has finished this story with wide and fearful eyes... my eyes rolling non stop.

I have heard this at least four times from four completely different people.. have any of u heard this story? and how would u reply.. i think its silly personally

    in conclusion,
Ive gotten more trouble about having snakes then i ever thought i would! a lot of my friends have threatened to never come over again... yet they cant seem to resist... its amazing how at one moment they will "barely touch the thing" and the next they want to hold it and let it wrap around their arms...

I know. One second people walk by us and throw that repulsed look and negative comment at us and then the next they actually stop and turn and want to know what kind of snake it is. That's when I sieze the moment to unless the wifey beats me to them with the ol' .
