Spiders wobble but they don't fall down.

Another wobble question.

My spider, when I first got him, didn't really show signs of his wobble. Now at about 10 months old, he's gotten progressively worse. It's particularly bad at feeding time. He kills the rat, corkscrews for a good ten minutes -- really, really cork screws -- and then finds the head and eats it.

Should I be worried? I was under the impression that the wobbe became less apparent as they got older, but I guess not? Could it also be stress just from eating or something? His temps are humidity are all on spot.

It's not that I give a hoot about how bad his wobble is, I just don't want it to have adverse effects on the little guy.

Sometimes they don't have it as babies and they get it as they grow older. Sometimes its the other way around.

As long as he can eat and poop he will be fine

I have a mid 08 male spider that never showed wobble till about 8 months old and it has slowly progressed into corkscrewing also.
He's now about 2 yrs old and doing great in spite of his flaws.

He isn't as bad as some I've witness including a large female spider that we "did" own, lol, that corkscrewed heavily.

i have a question what do u guys mean by wobble & corkscrewing on spiders? im planning 2 buy a spider this year so if someone can explain to me what this means i will appreciate it....

psycho- a wobble is just that, shakiness. corkscrewing is when they turn over & over with their bodies, from what i have seen so far, all this happens when they're eating.

um im not sure. some people dont like it in breeding stock & call it a defect, others dont seem to mind it as long as the snake can eat well.

Just search the forum for "spider wobble". You will find videos and tons of info on it.

ALL spiders have the wobble to some degree at some point in their lives. You can't breed it out. It does not prevent them from leading a normal life.

My bee is 2 years old and I only see her wobble when she eats as well. There is no other sign of it. Even holding her is not a problem. She does not flip or spin at all. When its feeding time it seems like the excitement brings it out and she gets a slight head vibration. Almost like she is concentrating too hard. Like others have said, it can surface later in life or early in life. There is no way to know what it will be like a few years down the road when you purchase a spider but it seems like the very bad wobblers will show it early on. If yours just started showing it chances are it wont get very bad or it may only happen during feeding time.
